About Melanie

Melanie is a lifelong learner and lover of movement based activities. She is an RYT-500, a certified ACE Group Fitness Instructor, and holds both a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Exercise Science. She has certifications in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), CrossFit (L1 Trainer), and Yin Yoga all of which she incorporates into her work. Her main interests lie in connecting with herself via the body and helping others to do the same. She is dedicated to impacting the field of Fitness and Wellness through teaching weekly classes, hosting concentrated learning experiences (workshops and events), and creating and leading teacher trainings. Her teaching is mainly in the modalities of strength training and yoga and is accessible for multi-levels and is infused with alignment and anatomy information. She sees the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the human body as a necessary means to understanding the whole self. She loves to work with people who are dedicated to prioritizing their own health as a means of experiencing life to the fullest and with teachers who are eager to begin or grow their career in the field. Additionally, she is a full-time faculty member in Physical Education at a Higher Education institution and has amassed 1000+ hours of teaching in various modalities with a wide range of people.
